Over more than fifteen years as an attending vascular and general surgeon, Dr. Chiriano operated at the highest-stakes end of medicine, held academic appointments, taught residents, and published widely in his field. That background matters in a med spa setting for a simple reason. Injectables, lasers, and energy-based treatments are medical procedures, and the person overseeing them should think like a physician. As Medical Director, Dr. Chiriano sets the clinical protocols, supervises care, and ensures every treatment at Mirror Mirror is delivered safely and appropriately.
Alongside his surgical career, he has pursued formal training in aesthetics, regenerative medicine, and functional wellness, and is personally certified in the core treatments the practice offers. For more than fifteen years, Dr. Chiriano practiced as an attending vascular and general surgeon across leading Southern California hospitals, including Loma Linda University Medical Center and the Loma Linda VA Hospital, where he served as Director of the Vascular Lab and Director of Vascular Education.
He has held a faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Surgery, served as an invited speaker at national surgical meetings, and was elected President-Elect of the Southern California Vascular Surgery Society. That same rigor, training, teaching, and evidence-based judgment now guides the standard of care at Mirror Mirror.
About Dr. Chiriano
Yes. Dr. Chiriano is certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He also holds the RPVI credential and has completed dedicated training in aesthetic and regenerative medicine.
A DO is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. DOs and MDs are both fully licensed physicians who complete medical school, residency, and board certification. Dr. Chiriano earned his DO, then completed a general surgery residency and a vascular surgery fellowship, the same surgical training path as any board-certified surgeon.
The Medical Director is the physician responsible for the clinical side of the practice. Dr. Chiriano sets the treatment protocols, oversees the medical care delivered by the team, reviews candidacy for procedures, and holds the practice to a physician-led standard of safety. Medical oversight is what separates a properly run medical spa from a purely cosmetic one.
He is certified in Botox and filler, PDO thread lifts, IPL, laser, radiofrequency microneedling, and HydraFacial, along with regenerative and functional medicine including bioidentical hormone therapy and medically supervised weight management. This range lets him build combined treatment plans rather than fitting every patient to a single device.
